Friday Flotsam

Frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrere we go!

I cannot believe school is out. We have just a hair under 12 weeks of summer looking up my nostrils going, “Now what?” It’s been cool and cloudy and drizzly and while I will be CRAVING this weather come mid July, right now it’s weird. But hey, we lean in! We’re burning sticks in the chiminea and I’m reading constantly outside under blankets. It’s kind of heaven.

Tell me what’s on your summer bucket list. Any big trips planned? House or yard projects? Any food adventures you’d like to tackle? A book goal? Keeping it low key with our own personal daily poetry?

SAAAAME-AAAAH.

My plans are disciplined but fluid. Two runs a week. One recipe a week. One Book Tasting a week. The pool when I can. Weekly yard and garden maintenance plus estate sales. Weekly walks with mom friends. Impromptu patio hangs. The kids have a camp each in June. We have two little road trips planned to see family and friends. The rest of the time I need them feral and free. That’s about it! We can do this, right?

Right?

Tell me what books you plan to read this summer. At this point I don’t really have a list. I think I’ll just thrift them and let you all tell me what I need to inhale and we’ll go from there. Speaking OF, I have 20 pages left of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and will be posting a video later today on it!

The new Carley Fortune sounds so good. Let’s read that soon! I still have a couple of Emily Henry books I need to devour. Anyway, I’ll get all this worked out and will share a more solid list soon.

I have very little today, can you tell?

Weekend plans?

We have a graduation party, the pool opening, a bit of mowing and some lounging ahead. Obsessed.

You saw this Caprese Panzanella Salad, right? Please get in that.

That’s all, folks! Next week will be a more regular rhythm. Just need this clunky first week done and we’ll be smoooooooth sailing come Monday. Summer recipes! Summer books! Summer everything! Also what are you . . . wearing this summer? Why are clothes so hard?

Please add Theo of Golden to your reading list. Top 5 book of all time for me! I devoured the new Carley Fortune book in a day. Also really liked Into the Blue. It’s so funny to see everyone celebrating school being over. I live in New England and we’re in til 6/25 (partially on account of 5 snow days needing to be added)
