Gift Guide: For the Bread Lovers

Welcome to one of three mini gift guides this week! Today is dedicated to the bread lovers out there. Tomorrow will be skincare and makeup. Thursday will be miscellaneous. TBD. Still working on that’n.

But! Let’s celebrate baking bread and the wonders of it in thy soul cavern.

  1. A bread cloche! I’ve had this one for years and I’m still as obsessed with it today as I was on day one. After each use it darkens a little, so watch it transform over time. It’s pretty magical. You can use a dutch oven of course, but there’s something enchanting about looking at a bread cloche in your kitchen. Get it. You will not regret it.

2) A bread lame! This specific one is on my list this year. I love the little etching on the handle. And I dig that it keeps the razor straight, making it easier for more accurate bread design. You know my entire goal in life is to be able to make pretty designs. 2026 is my year, gosdfldsnit. Get it!

3) Proofing cloth! I made baguettes a few years ago and this cloth is perfection. Looks like something out of Beauty and the Beast all casual on your counter. You have to get it.

4) Bread bags! First I’ll show you cloth, then we’ll go to paper. These are rustic, sturdy and stylish. You use, wash, and keep using. Obviously get them.

5) Paper bread bags! I have these because it makes gifting so easy. And they seriously keep the bread FRESH. I was shocked. Plus they look like a bakery in Paris. Get ’em!

6) Breadsong! A favorite bread making cookbook with sweet stories and fantastic recipes. I love love this one, but would dig for you to tell me what bread making cookbooks you’re in love with. Also get it.

7) And for the ultimate enthusiast, a baguette pillow! I gave this to Will last year for Christmas and it gives us giggles everyday. A BAGUETTE PILLOW, you guys. How can you not? It’s surprisingly snuggly, too.

    Last year, one of my colleagues surprised me with a funny and delicious Christmas gift, and honestly, it was one of the most memorable moments of my teaching career. I had never received anything like that before. Seeing your gift ideas reminded me of that special moment. I love how little touches like these bring humour and joy into everyday life.
