The girls are coming over in a bit for some mojitos. We’re going to give my new mortar and pestle a proper christening.
For the event, I thought a little bit of backyard wild flower pickin’ was in order.
I’m even going to WASH MY HAIR.

Beautiful flowers, and love your photography! Enjoy your mojitos. =)
Thank you, Jenna! Yes, it’s called butterfly weed. I absolutely love them, too!
Do you know what the orange flowers are called? They are beautiful!
Beautiful flowers! Have a lovely evening
Beautiful. Also, I wish I was one of those “girls” who was coming over.
@ Rebecca – It’s Butterfly Weed. Grows wild out here and it’s a perennial.
Have a wonderful evening Bev. Enjoy your mojitos!
Gorgeous, Bev. We have a few butterfly weeds that I planted in hopes of attracting butterflies, which worked wonderfully. The kids love watching for them and looking up their names.
These are absolutely beautiful, Bev! And a mortar and pestle is a beautiful thing as well.
Bev are you growing these from seeds in your backyard? They are sooo beautiful.
I sure am! Thank you so much!
I am going to have to try this!! May have to mix in some potting soil in with my Georgia clay! Hopefully it will work. Thanks!
