Frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Okay, two crazy things. And when I say crazy I mean ONE is crazy and the other just sucks. But we’ll make it.
The first thing though, my watch fell off! But listen. You need the story. It’s actually weird.
In order to take my watch off (which is on my right wrist), you have to maneuver it in a specific way with your left fingers. It’s detailed and complicated and actual world wars have broken out because of it.
SO, the other night I woke up in the middle of the night to discover it . . . not on my wrist DUN DUN DUUUUUUN. And of course in that moment I was too tired to get up and look around for it. Couldn’t make sense of it. So like any normal psychopath I went back to sleep and dreamed about where my watch could be. Ha!
Woke up at 5:30 to find it ON THE FLOOR next to my bed. But how? How did it come off? It’s a detailed operation of precision and concentration. It can’t just . . . fall off.
Someone tell me what in the David Copperfield is happening over here.
(reading this back and wow, that is a horrible story.)

Second thing is that . . . our basement flooded. Mostly just the laundry room. But OH MY GAH so much water. I am happy to report that after a full week of shop vac-ing, fanning, bleaching and mold killer spraying, it’s almost….almost dry. This Sunday we’ll seal the ish out of all the little cracks, give it all another round of mold killer and then paint with Dry Lok. Whatever that is. Aaron has a plan. If you have any more tips, please let us know. We have masks and gloves and all the things. I just need it dry, man!
BECAUSE THEN I’m going to jush the laundry area. Hang a little art. Put a cute thingy over the exposed light bulb. (“thingy” – are you impressed with my ability to weave such poetic vocabulary into these posts?)
Anyway, the water didn’t touch our chill zone. Thank the heavens. But man oh man did it eff up this last week like nothing else.
I’m mainly afraid of mold. I’m going to douse the entire room in mold killer. Shoot, my entire house. Maybe the whole street. THE ENTIRETY OF PRAIRIE VILLAGE. (I’m saying all this like Scarlett O’Hara with a carrot in my hand. “I’ll nevah go hungry again!”
Anyway, how are you?

Weekend plans?
My parents are visiting! Last night we went to Will’s FINAL elementary school strings concert. He’ll take orchestra in middle school next year, but this felt like a slight end of an era, ya know? Tonight we have a soccer game and I’ll do some shopping with my mom. Fill the window boxes. Let the basement dry. Listen to the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack and play SkyJo outside. Let the basement dry. Eat crispy chicken wraps. Let the basement dry.
Two little inspirations reels for you! First of all, I created a Mother’s Day spread with Fareway that I’d love you to check out. It’s like, brush meets nibbles. And mimosas. I hope you love. And secondly, a recap of all the estate sales I’ve been to since January, and how I styled all the little things! These are so much fun to make. I do hope you peep it.
Also it’s May! Happy May. Is your basement dry?
