You guys! I have news.

Yesterday when I went to check the weather on my phone, the weather app went into RETRO MODE and it looks exactly like the ’90s. Not that there were apps in the ’90s, but it looked liked TV! The font and the graphics were the exact same. The exact same! All that was missing was the smooth jazz playing behind it. Why was that the very best?

I distinctly remember grooving out to the weather channel as a kid in New Mexico wanting it to snow SO BADLY. It would show the low percentages and I would will it with my brain to increase. It never did except maybe one time. But that jazz, man! Kept our moods light in the heaviest of times. Is this why I like jazz? The WEATHER CHANNEL? Oh no. (also makes perfect sense)

But this is the sadness. I can’t find retro mode on the app today. Was it a one-time thing? Did they honestly do that to a Gen-Xer? A carrot dangling in front of a nostalgically-starved donkey.

Okay, update on the NeeDoh. It’s a no go. A NeeDoh No Go. They’re sold out everywhere! So I got some rainbow slime for Nat and called it. Also, did you hear the story about the girl who microwaved her NeeDoh and it exploded on her? Awful! She’s okay but suffered from some burns. I showed my kids the video and was like, DO NOT DO THIS WITH NEEDOH. They were like, “Duh, Mom. We won’t.”

And they said they even have the smooth jazz part! Now I just have to figure out how to get it back on my app. This is so incredibly exciting. Don’t tell the actual human friends I have.

We have an 8:45pm soccer game tonight. WHY. WHYYYYY. Don’t tell anyone but I’m secretly hoping it gets stormed out and rescheduled for a Saturday afternoon during 72 degree weather. Will you tell that to Mama Nay Nay for me? Thanks.

I plan to dye eggs, throw together baskets, make homemade bagels, make deviled eggs, have a mimosa and lounge on the back patio on Sunday. Do some patio primpin’ and flower pot fillin’. Read a bunch. Clean a bunch. Reorganize my closet. (no I still haven’t done that.)

From this week:: I have a collection of all the books, wines and nibbles from the last 9 Book Tasting Episodes. (new one coming today!) Also a new April mixtape for you. Very dreamy and shoegaze-y. You’ll dig.

Okay! Got the retro mode figured out. Now to get that smooth jazz…..
