April! About. frickin’. time.
Not that I’m trying to wish life away. My jowls are squeezing the reins of time continuum like DUUUUUUUUDE CHIIIIILL.
But the rest of me is super pumped to see April. First of all, today’s our anniversary! Wedding. 14 years. So insane. Secondly, I pick up kindergarten enrollment packs today and it’s like HOW. And thirdly, we’ve got mini baby carrot sprouts baaarely popping out of the ground with tiny cartoon voices, wiping their sleepy eyes all, “hi! beep! it’s me!” (<–that’s what carrots say apparently. )
So this mixtape: LET US DISCUSSETH.
This is what I imagine for your life so you obviously must obey. A picnic. In your back yard or back porch or back deck or back patio or back whatever. Go outside and bring two bottles of rosé, a visor and a blanket with you. Sit down, open a bottle, and put this on.
WAIT WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING AT THE VISOR? Rude.
It’s a light mix, fun, vibey in places, a tad folksy. Yes it opens with Indigo Girls, you know this is my life.
And! About mid-way through the mix, I threw in a song by my super close girlfriend of yesteryear, Sara Thomas. She and I were BESTIES. To the complete max, and we played music together in coffee shops, bars, etc. The song is from her solo album, from long ago. We actually recorded together about 20 years ago (no jowls), but I have no idea where those files are! If I track them down, I’ll put a song in May’s mixtape. Promzee.
I GIVE YOU . . .the “Sun Hats and Seedlings” mix.
