Monthly Mixtape: Flip Flops and Popsicles

JUNE IS BUSTING OUT ALL OVERRRRR.

And by that I mean it’s pouring rain.

But I’ll take it! Because in about a month, we gon’ be dry and barren and humid and icky and nasty and sweaty and dead grassy and whiney and weedy and no.

Remember in old movies how June was always THE BEST month of the year? Everything happens in June! Weddings, lush gardens, blooming flowers, busy farmer’s markets, family vacations, picnics on the lawn and dinner parties on the patio. You stay up later! You stay out later. You wing it. It’s June.

I’m actually super excited for June. My kids start summer camp/school next week. (WAAAAH/YAAAAY) I have a fun bestie trip (!) to Boulder (!) next weekend (!), and I don’t feel obnoxiously overloaded with work like I normally do. Also, Dawson’s Creek. (<–don’t punch me.)

So this mixtape. It has no real theme. It’s really just music that I’ve had on mega repeat lately. Some songs are brand new to me, and others are gems I’ve been obsessed with for years. But, all feel like RIGHT NOW. This pre-muggy, pre-buggy summer era of bright days and twinkly nights.
