Another summer, another sooooong!
I know I don’t have to tell you about our summer tradition of visiting family in Little Rock, AR. Old news, yes. And I know I don’t have to tell you that each year we pick a song from the ’80s or ’90s, slow it down and vibe it out. You know this, I know.
Well this year we tackled the incomparable Fleetwood Mac and I’m oooooobsessed. Dustin, my brother-in-law, is the mastermind behind all the instruments. Aaron and I sing lead on this (Hi, a little New Tragedies feel!), and my sister Barbara and old college musical partner Sara Thomas are singing harmonies in the chorus. It was so fun! So fun.
It’s always a complete treasure to carve out the time to record these songs. A timestamp of the summer, of what we’re all going through, it’s like nothing else in the world.
Without another word. . . our take on Hold Me, by Fleetwood Mac.
- I’ll let you know when it’s officially on Spotify next week!
- Dare I take suggestions for next year’s song?
- Here’s our take on The Way It is, Linger, and The One I Love.
- The Nightlight Sessions is our pretend band, in case you didn’t know. Ha! Oh.
