MAAAAAARCH! (I get excited about things.)
At last, I’m seeing longer strands of 60s in the extended forecast. Windows have been open twice in the last seven days. Beers were consumed on the front porch over the weekend. To-do lists of seeds to plant and leaves to rake and stains for the patio table and pergola are being eagerly jotted. It’s ALMOST SPRANG, Y’ALL.
And to celebrate, I’ve got a new playlist for ya! Of course it’s a theme so just go ahead and get excited.
This early spring month, it’s all dedicated to wispy vocals. Feathery female voices that range from whispers to angels. Ha, Whispering Angel. That made me laugh. There’s only one dude singer in this, but it’s a harmony with a female, so I let it slide. MOST of this mixtape is older music. (surprise surprise) Lots of lush, shoegazer-type, wall-of-sound songs that make your soul float. There ARE a couple of stripped back, slightly folksy songs, but the vocals remain dreamy, and that’s what we’re here for. (also known as, my friend Lacy’s worst nightmare.)
14 songs, from top to bottom. Beginning with The Sundays (hello, my crumbling heart) and ending with The Cranberries (goodbye, my crumbling heart). This will take you back, I can promise you that.
So let’s get taken back.
Without another breath, I give you . . . The “Wispy and Shoegaze and Lushy” Mix.
Hit up “Monthly Mixtape” to the left (to the left) for the last four years’ worth of tunes!
Bye now.
