FrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrUMERICUUUH.

Just in case you needed a hit of dopamine. ^^^^
Isn’t that the dreamiest looking place? It’s Dickson Street Bookstore, in my college hometown, Fayetteville Arkansas. And I’m obsessed with all the little hand drawn signs and markers and taped up pictures of this and that. And the carpet that looks like a stone path. Hahaha! It’s the very best. Natalie and I took a little stroll last Saturday morning and got an iced coffee (for me. a DP for her.) and we perused the hushed aisles (that go on and on!) for about 45 minutes and it was glorious.
We also found someone’s keys! I forgot about this. In the very back. There were keys on a stack of books, so Nat took them up and gave them to the front desk. I wonder if someone came back to get them. Surely. Surely they did.
Speaking of books and Natalie – I’m reading Yesteryear. WHOA. But I’m still at the beginning. She just woke up and it’s 1855 and she’s absolutely freaking out. I know this book is polarizing and some love it and some hate it and some say it’s icky and some say it’s brilliant. Who knows how I’ll feel. But I’ll report back on July 17th with a full Book Tasting episode on it. Eeee!
Tell me what you’re reading.

How’s your summer going? I always consider the 4th to be the halfway point, and here we are. June was a frenzy, and I’m kind of feeling like slowing down in July a bit. Busting through books, tackling a few little house projects, one more road trip to see family, tending to the tomatoes. I need low key. But I think it’s more about my mental state than anything. Ha. Ha. Ha?
I’m okay, I promise! Just monitoring the regularly scheduled anxiety that comes in the summer. While there’s a romance during the “dog days” – they also stress me out. I crave anchor points and to-dos and a rhythm.
I’ll tell you what’s been giving me so much joy this summer. This damn World Cup. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. The days rotate around who’s playing and when and overtime and penalty kicks and the intensity of it all! I’ll never understand offsides but I’m still a good person. I have learned so much about soccer it’s insane. (Of course via Nat’s journey, but this is other level.)
Anyway, that’s all. We’ll be okay.

Do we think T&T are already married? Like, before this weekend? I need your thoughts.

Weekend plans?
We’ll celebrate the 4th tomorrow in some way. Maybe the pool, maybe some fireworks, maybe some grilling. We shall see. Tell me your plans and if I’m invited. ha!
I do have a few recipes you could work in for tomorrow. A DIVINE Strawberry Basque Cheesecake that’s just amazing. Crustless and simple. Also a Blueberry Clafoutis that’s elegant and delicious! Make both. 🙂
Alright, happy 4th to you all and stay tuned for a new Book Tasting episode this afternoon!
