I nearly forgot! Nearly forgot to make you a mixtape for February. No excuses. (well, I do have some, but I’ll save it for tomorrow, once I’m on the other side of Stress Mountain. It’s bad.)
But we have it!
And it might be my favorite. One of my favorites.
It’s a step away from jazz because I feel like I (lovingly) bombard you with jazz on the regular. It’s just who I am. But another slice of Bev (sorry) is indie rock. And Taylor. And guy/girl harmonies. And nostalgia. And pretty acoustic guitar and etherial mood in music. So this is that. And it makes my heart all twitterpated just listening. I know you’re going to absolutely love it.
We start with the new Hannah Cohen single, because it’s just damn good, and exactly what I’m craving right now. We move into a bit of early 2000s indie, a tinge of velvety country folk, more indie with harmonies ponied up to perfection and back around again. It’s a solid mixtape. And you need it this month, because we have more snow in the forecast and sickness is running rampant. We need that comfort! We gotta hold on! (for one more day?)
Without another word, I give you . . . the “Swirling Flakes and Savory Bakes” mix.
Get in that right now.
