Frrrrrrrrrrrrrah! dah! duh! doh!
The other evening I spent an embarrassing amount of time adding photos to all of my contacts in my phone. Have you done that? I feel like I used to have a bunch of photos in my contacts, but I really didn’t. So I went through my camera library and screen grabbed an ish ton of photos and filled everyone in! And it’s so much fun now when I get a text to see that person’s face instead of initials. Don’t you think that so fun?
You would be correct in that I need a life.
Thing IS though, I added my own photo to my name in my phone, and shouldn’t that alert people to update my contact to that photo? Isn’t that the way it works? Because so far not one person that I’ve texted with has said they’ve updated my contact photo. I sort of felt like that would be high topic this week. It wasn’t.
I’ll live through the let down, I’ll be okay.
If you have my picture in your contacts, what is it?! You don’t have to tell me.
What is it?
I have a poll! Or really just a question. Something.
There’s a door in our kitchen that leads out to the garage. (Oh! Our new garage door is installed and it’s fabulous. I never knew that opening the garage could sound like melted butter. It is truly soothing and satisfying and again, you would be correct in that I need a life.)
The door! Back to the door.
It’s white, it’s a flat panel, and it’s sort of blah. I just feel like we could amp this thing up. (don’t tell Aaron)
Originally when I asked you guys in Stories about it, I had trim in mind. Like buying molding and just violently throwing it on. Painting it a fresh coat of white and calling it.
But theeeeen I started thinking about wallpaper. Is that weird? Do people wallpaper doors? (if you tell Aaron you’re dead meat) It would be subtle and tasteful.
But theeeeeeeen just now I’m like, why not BOTH? Like, a simple molding on the door with the wallpaper inside the trim. (said like Owen Wilson in Zoolander) What do we think about this development? Lost my mind or onto something?
Imagine a very simple delft tile wallpaper. Pale blue and white. Very French.
Are we into this? Or should I just take a dang washrag, wipe the dang door down and call it a dang day?
This fluted pitcher? ^^^ I used it last Friday night to celebrate a few friends’ birthdays, and I can’t tell you how many asked for link. Bah! Estate sale, bay-buh! Keep an eye out in the kitchens. They’re all over the place.
Also, the drink. I combined sparkling white wine with sparkling water (no flavor) with fresh mint from my garden and it was SO refreshing. The double sparkling action in your mouth is over level. You could even add fruit or a flavored water. The mint is too, too good.
There’s your entire summer right there.
Speaking of, have you made a summer bucket list yet? Do you ever do that?
Aaron made one last week and you guys, it’s 97.98% fossil hunting oriented. Booooooooriiiiiiiiing.
Mine includes hosting an outdoor movie night in our backyard, making homemade ice cream, finding the most perfect pair of pleated white shorts, running at least twice with an early (and I mean early) Saturday morning running group, at least three picnics, mastering the perfect rosemary lemonade, and not losing my voice at Taylor Swift. That’s it.
Ya know what, adjustment. LOSING my voice at Taylor Swift. That’s more like it.
Tell me yours so that I can yoink some ideas.
Weekend plans?
We have TWO AND A HALF DAYS left of third grade. I cannot understand this at all. We’ll play pickle ball tonight with franz, host a sleepover in Nat’s new room (oh! I’m finally shooting the finished rooms on Sunday. Stay tuned for that.), one final soccer game tomorrow, some Girl Scouts star gazing on Saturday night, and a slew of yard and garden maintenance. The good stuff, really.
From this week! A Blood Orange Rosemary Yogurt Cake that is super super brunch worthy. Make it happen. Here’s the video! And also some Seared Chicken Tacos with Slaw that will transform taco night for you. And a video of course.
Okay so are we into this trim and wallpaper idea? IF YOU TELL AARON I SWEAR….
