Fridildy Fradildy Frudildy doo!
I got lazy yesterday and didn’t post anything. Hold on, lazy’s not the word. More like, stretched too thin. Burning my candle stick at both ends. Taking on too much. OVER it, man.
I blame my sunglasses. See, two weekends ago they decided to stay at my friend’s house while I came home, unaware that they’d let me leave without them. Jerks. So I’ve been wearing these other sunglasses that are waaaay too loose on my face, making me bonkers loco. So, on Wednesday evening I had to go fetch my stubborn sunglasses that were digging their new home on my friend’s coffee table. Well, it’s impossible to just walk in, grab my shades (<–no) and walk back out again. Of course we had to sit and visit a while. I say visit because apparently I’m 85 years old. We also crocheted doilies while we visited.
So then, after a glass of wine, I MEAN doily, I came home to a loaded baked potato prepared by Aaron, and the sofa all piled with pillows with a movie about to start, and it was like, I just can’t work. I can’t do it.
Family was coming to town. I needed to clean. I needed to rest. I needed to drink more doilies and give myself and dang break for five seconds.
All this to say, we’ll look at french fries next week.
And keep an eye on your sunglasses, people.
Last weekend Aaron and I went on a flash date! Not to be confused with “I flashed him on our date.” Which I’m sure people do. I’ll just stop there.
Anyway, my parents were watching the grems while we turbo zipped over to this little neighborhood shopping village near us and hit up two of our favorite restaurants for an outside refreshment. I say refreshment because apparently I’m 90 years old. We also complained about our bunions while we enjoyed our refreshments.
We had smoked duck empanadas! Ummmm incredible. And those little darlings to the right are parmesan fritters rolled in a light citrus reduction. DUDES. I would walk down the aisle with those.
I say dudes because apparently I’m 14 years old.
You’re like, “how are we not at the end of this post already? PLEASE, GOD, LET IT END.”
I love seeing little planters errrwhere! Grocery stores, hardware stores, nurseries, ooooooWEEEE, it’s getting exciting.
I say oooooWEEEE because apparently I’m 65 years old. (what does that even mean?)
Are you planting a garden? What will you plant? We do basically the same thing every year; tomatoes (roma and cherry), peppers (red and green bells, jalapeno, serrano and Thai), lettuces (spinach, romaine and arugula), all the herbs, raspberries and blueberries, broccoli, and I think that’s it. What should we add?! I need to branch out with my repertoire! BROADEN MY HORIZONS.
I say broaden because apparently I- just kidding.
My first Food Network post is live! It’s pretty bizarre seeing my name on that website. It’s like, pinch me please. Ow, man, not that hard!
Plans this weekend? Pray tell. My in-laws and sis-in-law and niece are all in town, so we’re going to paint the town red!
I say paint the town red because apparently I’m a dweeb.
