FRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrr……………..!
Is your bracket busted? This is the one time I’ll ask, okay?! I think Kentucky done ruint everyone. I felt the collected aaargh of the country once that overtime did not go as expected.
You’re just floored I’m talking about sports, ain’t cha?
Last thing about this and we’ll move on to other crucially critical topics, okay?
Who’s in your FINAL FOUR? If it was Kentucky – sorry, bruh.
Mine is Gonzaga, Baylor, Villanova and Kansas. I have KU winning the whole thing, beating Baylor. Remember 2008?? That was intense!
Anyway I can feel 87% of you reaching up to x out of this blog post, so I’ll switch gears before you’re a goner.
(but tell me who’s in your Final Four. I genuinely want to know.)
(really)
(fir ril)
(sorry I type like a teenager)
Let’s play UNPOPULAR OPINION. (noooow you’re excited)
This came up in my GirlSquad text this week, after the Senate voted (unanimously) to nix the whole Daylight Savings (Saving but whatever) thing. Now, you know how I feel about it. I’ve talked about it before in here. I love the time change! I look forward to both the fall and the spring time change every year. Something dramatic to look forward to. A physical act of marking the seasonal change. It’s something I’ve (honestly and I mean TRULY) treasured my entire life, spanning back to childhood. On those Saturday nights in Hobbs, NM we’d always excitedly try to decide at dinner (supper if you talk to my mom) if we should turn the clocks back (or forward) that evening? Or the next morning? We needed to feel festive, you see. #needsfriends
WHY NIX IT? What purpose does it serve? And why do Americans hate it so much? Because Americans hate it so much.
I know I’m incredibly alone in this (besides my friend Sarah), but I’m curious if you’re relieved at all? Or secretly let down that something so monumental is changing. Going away. Forever.
Well, I supposed the House to pass it, but I feel like they will. Not this house! Hahaha!
Oh.
Here’s something else that came up last week that I’m definitely alone on. And I didn’t exactly go into the root of where this comes from in Stories, so I’ll tell you here. And I need to know where you stand, obviously.
Kleenex boxes. Are you pro Kleenex box? Like the little cardboard square or rectangle box that you yank a tissue out of. Do you do this?
You’re like, “Well I live on Planet Earth so that would be a yes.”
Would you believe I stopped yeeaaaaaaarrrrrrrrs ago? This is why. Two things. Two reasons behind it.
- I remember reading in an old (like 2005) Real Simple magazine that it was much more economical to use toilet paper instead of tissues because you’re paying for the box and all that folding. Ah ha! moment, as it was called. So I switched to tp and never looked back. Trashy? For sure. Into it? Also for sure.
- Secondly, I remember hating all the designs for Kleenex boxes. Nothing was at-all fashionable about them. And if you even try to get me to buy something crocheted or knitted we are done here.
Tell me, pro box? Or pro roll?
Have you ever forgotten a password to something (besides 86 times a day like me) like an email account, and it asks you to change the password, and that it will send you an email to that very account that you cannot get into with a link to change it?
Right.
Just putting that right here.
Weekend plans?
Today is rain rain RAIN (so into it), so I’m taking the kids to an estate sale this morning and to a festive lunch right after to celebrate the end of spring break. Then it’s bracket following, book reading and maybe a load of laundry this afternoon. Tomorrow it’s much warmer and sunny so we’re meeting friends at the Garden Center for their big spring fest and finding a patio immediately after to watch KU and bask in the sunshine. I’ll have my visor, fret not.
From this week! Creamy Skillet Chicken with Mushrooms. You can have this with pasta, rice, polenta, anything. It’s tearfully flavorful. And Book Club! Three of my favorite reads so far this year. You better get in that and tell me if you agree.
So okay, Final Four – spill it.
