We’re Back!

Heeey, you guuuuys!

We made it HOME.

We just pulled up to find our house and car still intact with the Earth after being away for 7 days. Every time we drive down our street and approach our home, I always say to Aaron, “Well, our house is still there! My car is still there!”

You just don’t mess with tradition, dudes.

As we walked around each of the rooms, opening windows to let out the musty, no-one-has-been-in-the-house-for-a-week smell, Aaron decided to take a peek into the garden while I unloaded the car.

As I type this I’m realizing how I seriously got the crap job of the deal.

Once I drug in the last bag, Aaron caught my eye and motioned for me to come take a look at what he harvested.

WHAAAAAAT. It doesn’t look like much, but I’m telling you, there are so many green beans and jalapenos that we had to lie down for a nap to process this bounty bestowed upon us in our lives.

I’ll be back in the morning to show you what we ended up doing with this mother load.

UNLESS you have suggestions? My ears are all yours.

p.s. I missed you! (is that weird?)

Good looking harvest Bev! You were missed too! Reading you blog has become a daily ritual for me... don't mean to sound like a foodie stalker.... LOL! :) Just kidding, but I think some jalepeno pepper poppers would be good, or some type of relish, oh or maybe some jalapeno cornbread! I love green beans with new potatoes too. mmmm! I'm sure you will come up with something good. :)

I'm assuming you got lost, because you ended up back at home and NOT on my doorstep. Shall I give you better directions next time?

I know! I can't be blamed. My GPS girl was French!

Oh girl! I know EXACTLY how you feel! Buy my thing is always making sure all of the cats are a live inside! Lol! Being gone for so long can make you nervous about what is going on at home! Glad you had such a welcome homecoming in the garden!

Thanks, Jessica! And YES, it just makes me feel better to verbalize that everything is OKAY. Weird? Maybe. Comforting? YES.

I love your blog :) I started following you after your chicken and spinach enchilada recipe was a hit in my house and your fiesta chicken was last night THANK YOU! My Mom-in-law to be :) makes a bean salad, it is green beans, tomatoes, a little onion with Italian dressing on it and it is really good. I'm sure you could add jalapenos to that too.

Well, considering I have, uh, NOTHING coming out of my garden, that looks like a mighty big haul!! What a great surprise to come home to!
