Friday.
It’s been a heavy week. Hearts are heavy. Minds are heavy. Emotional fumes are more potent than ever. Opinions of all kinds are being handed out like baby kittens in a parking lot. But I just want to take a quick moment to express something that I know you’ve all been reflecting on since early this week. A lot of you have asked. Most of you just wonder. But my answer is, with endless solidarity . . .
Yes I’m still totally obsessed with Gilmore Girls! (<–you had to see it coming.)
Ugh, I’m six episodes into Season Two, and basically dying. They just introduced Jess (hiiii, Jack from This Is Us! The adorable chin gave it away. And his eyes and voice and hair essence.) Everyone asks me if I’m #teamjess – which tells me there’s possibly a #teamdean? Am I supposed to pick a boyfriend that I like more? Well to answer you, so far I’ve really liked Dean. He’s been so sweet to Rory, but I have a feeling that’s all about to change, based on the Tsunami of “KEEP WATCHING OR DIE” direct messages in Instagram.
And on top of that, I’m p o s i t i v e that Luke and Lorelai are going to end up together, so wouldn’t that make Jess and Rory like, third cousins twice removed?
These are pressing matters of the heart and I need solutions.
Also, Mrs. Cunningham (awwww!) as Trix Gilmore (ewwww)? INCREDIBLE. Just amazing.
Okay I’m done. I swear I’m not going to turn my website into a GG fan girl page. I promise!
(my fingers might be crossed behind my back.)
So listen to this. And then hold me when I tell you.
I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year. And by this year I mean LESS THAN TWO WEEKS. FOR EIGHT ADULTS. (and two gremlins) (insert that one emoji with the face exploding)
I have all the recipes (and tablescape! hello, burnt orange apples and eucalyptus) loosely tailored in my head, but I need one of those, those…those planner thingies! It maps out like, “Two weeks ahead you buy Bloody Mary mix.” And then, “One week out you buy more Bloody Mary mix.” And then like, “Four days away go ahead and get more Bloody Mary mix.” And then, “Okay sister, day of – refill that Bloody Mary, already.” Isn’t that what the planners basically say?
Tell you what, if you have a tried-and-true T-giving planner, send it my way. Like yesterday.
Should I buy my turkey this weekend just keep it in the freezer? Which REMINDS ME, I need to clean out the freezer as soon as possible. There’s something in the bottom drawer with eyes and feathers but in the shape of a football and I might need a shoe horn to get it out.
Speaking of shoes(!) – you’re into shoes, right? (that was a rhetorical question)
I have a fun shoe holiday discount for youuuu! Wait, a holiday shoe fun discount.
A shoe holiday fun discount? Whatever, they’re fabulous shoes and you get a discount! (said like Oprah)
I recently got acquainted with this insanely cute Etsy shop, run by the a d o r a b l e mom of two boys, Tamar Shalem, who resides in Tel Aviv, Israel. She runs a handmade shoe business, and I’m obsessed with her. And the shoes! And her.
Her shoes have that vintage, slightly boxy, classy oxford look. I can’t get enough. She even has a new vegan line! Her shoes do not eat animal or dairy, you guys.
So this is the deal – use the code 15BEV to get 15% off all new collection items (full price) until Nov 30th! The discount works on both her site, and the Etsy shop.
Also, you have to watch this “making-of” video. It’s so darling. Look at those shoooooes. Mine above are the leather Black Grace. And they.are.perfection. (especially with kick flare levis, ugh.)
(those snaps have me all weepy-like.)
Shoe, fly, shoe! Haha hah ah ah a.
Oh.
If you need something to completely freak you out tonight, you have to watch this David Blaine “Real or Magic” documentary on Netflix.
Ooooomg. He goes into celebrity’s homes and absolutely blows their minds with INSANE magic tricks. You will laugh. You will get chills. You will question everything. It’s unreal! Or wait, magic. Something.
That’s my viewing rec for tonight. (right after GG, duh.)
Weekend plans? I’m treating one of my besties to a birthday pedicure tomorrow morning. She unfortunately shared her birthday with bad-news-bears Wednesday, so I’m going to try and make it up to her! I’m calling it TEAS AND TOES. It was going to be called TEAS, TOES AND TIARAS, but she’s more of a sash kind of gal.
I should really rake some leaves, too.
And get that furry football out of my freezer.
Hold me.
