Friday Flotsam

Frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr r r r r a y!

You guys, I am this close to buying Exclamation perfume (!) for Natalie this Christmas. Talk me out of it. Or into it!

See, this is why. I accidentally bought her theee most jank little tween perfume. I’m not even going to tell you where from. From where. Fromst wherist. But it’s bad. Smells like every retail store in the early 2000s. Thing is, the (sealed) box was tricky – it was this pretty pink floral illustration, so it hooked me like a pretty pink floral illustrated fish. Thought it would be a dainty scent. Nerp. It’s terrible. The bottle is super cute and she’ll die. And it’s going in her stocking anyway so I’m not overly worried about it (it was v v cheap), but now I feel like I need to do her right with a classic ’90s perfume!

So tell me, Exclamation?

SUNFLOWERS? omg.

Or Tea Rose? (<–my personal favorite even though I had all of these and wore them on obnoxious levels.)

She doesn’t need perfume. Not at all. But that’s beside the point. And it’s not even for her body. It’s for her room. She sprays scented stuff in her room constantly and makes this entire family gag. So I figure, if we’re smelling up the room, let’s do it ’80s/’90s stye.

Which one? Also, which one did you wear back then? I’m forgetting others I’m sure.

WAIT. POISON, OMG! This girl Kelly would wear Poison perfume in junior high to church and I always thought it was unbiblical hahahahahahah. I’m dying.

Okay which one?

Okay, what’s the cozy Christmas movie vibe this weekend? It’s still early December, so we have to plan this strategically. I normally wait until mid-Dec for The Family Stone and Little Women. But we might be feeling that now. I also always wait until Christmas break for You’ve Got Mail. (and all the other big hitters)

Oh! Wait! Christmas in Connecticut! That feels like this weekend. Have you seen it? Here, watch this. It’s a story about a woman with a big cooking/homemaker lifestyle column at a big city magazine, yet she can’t cook. And isn’t married. And has no children. It’s all a complete facade. And she gets invited to cook for a fan and things go hilariously awry.

So maybe that and The Family Stone? I’m feeling it.

What are you watching?

POLL: what do you think Taylor’s LAST SURPRISE SONGS will be on Sunday night? And will you stay up to watch it? The old lady in me is a hard no. The Swiftie in me is like, coooooome on, Bev!

(spoiler alert – the old lady will 100% win.)

Weekend plans? It’s veeery chill around here. Next week and weekend are a different game, so I’m soaking up the downtime this weekend and hanging dried oranges, finishing my mantel, stringing cranberries for the tree, wrapping gifts while watching The Holiday, bagging up old dead plants and calling it. One soccer game on Sunday eve and that’s it! Tacos tonight? Tacos tonight.

From this week! A simple Mushroom Risotto that will become a soul favorite. And the video for it!

Okay so really, which perfume? And what movie? Spilleth.

You have to watch Last Christmas!! It is so good. It has become one of my favourites! And remember the perfume Obscession? It was crazy strong. My sister used to bathe in it! Enjoy your un-busy weekend!

I was big on the Body Shop scents of the early 90’s specifically the strawberry, and I remember dewberry and peach were big too. But I don’t even think they make those anymore? Next up….the Gap fragrances, Heaven and Dream! Which they brought back to the Gap Factory stores!

I always wore vanilla body spray at her age. I didn't wear perfume till mid high-school. Christmas with the Kranks is always a great movie. Enjoy the weekend.

Electric Youth perfume with the hot pink swirly spring-thing in the middle. It was EVERYTHING. Watching "Single All the Way" on Netflix - hilarity and has become a year-long pick-me-up and "Home for the Holidays" with Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. Merry Everything, Bev!

My friend Jill bathed in Eternity!! It's not bad, it was just a LOT! Exclamation is a solid choice, but I was a Muguet fan! Lily of the Valley is also my birth flower so maybe that's why I loved it so much.As long as it's not Love's Baby Soft!! Family Stone was watchedat our house earlier this week. Why is it so good?! Amy at the end channeling her mom...I just love her. And Ben. Ugh!! Luke has always been my favorite Wilson! Enjoy!

When I was in high school, I wore Exclamation, Sunflowers and Electric Youth (Debbie Gibson forever!). I also wore Colors by Benetton and CK One. I think my mom had a permanent headache throughout the early 90s LOL.

I was in Jr. high/h.s. in the 80's and we loved White Shoulders (probably discontinued) and Lauren! Christmas in Connecticut looks adorable, thanks for the trailer! I have heard that Hot Frosty on Netflix is great but haven't seen it yet, so don't know if it's ok for your kiddos. Enjoy your low-key weekend, sounds wonderful!

OMDuhhhhh Exclamation for sure’s!! That was my first (if we’re not counting what our mothers doused us in eh hem Jean Naté) 😆…followed by Colors by Benetton bc it was across from the Orange Julius hangout and the place to buy rugby shirts w rubber buttons so why not wear the perfume too?! Does anyone also love Its A Wonderful Life or is it only me who enjoys doom before crying happy tears and making everything feel so right in my world? We have everything we need, except Exclamation ‼️

Am I the only person that remembers Incognito? I thought it smelled like a peach daiquiri (because that sounded amazing and at age 14 I had no idea what that smelled like) - if you can find it it's actually quite lovely. Oh and NAVY hahaha Honorable mentions for 90s kids: Love's Lemon 🍋, Baby Soft O.G., agreed on Sunflowers, CK One, Escape which I wore until about ten years ago 🤣 and let's never forget Estee Lauder Pleasures - that will transport you directly into a floral wallpapered bedroom listening to your Sundays CD and reading Sassy magazine. ❤️

"Holidate" is hilarious and has the added talents of Kristin Chenoweth. (Although I am probably the only person who watches "The Long Kiss Goodnight" with Geena Davis every Christmas and counts it as a holiday movie.)

One of the key solutions driving efficiency and innovation is the implementation of Business Support Systems (BSS) for the telecom sector. These systems play a significant role in optimizing business processes, enabling telecom companies to manage customer relationships, billing, and service delivery with greater ease and precision https://www.avenga.com/telecom-bss/ .BSS provides an integrated platform that helps telecom operators streamline their operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce operational costs. By automating processes such as billing, order management, and customer care, telecom companies can improve service delivery while minimizing errors and delays. This level of efficiency is especially important as customer demands become more complex and diverse.
