Monthly Mixtape: Sprang In Your Thang

19 days until spraaaaaaang! But I’m not excited or anything.

Monthly Mixtape: Sprang in Your Thang

Even if it’s been (for us) the MILDEST winter on record (in KC), with two jokes of a snow (here in my town), and temperatures that have mimicked spring (in Kansas City) for nearly a month now (for me in my town), I’m still pretending we’ve been in a long winter log of a fog, so I made you a chipper to the dipper spring mixtape!

That was a long sentence.

There’s no real THEME theme here, other than the feel-good vibe of all these songs. I wouldn’t even call them happy songs. Just, GOOD. Something your ears holes might be craving this March. Aside from two, all the tunes are from the late ’90s slash early 2000s singer songwriter/indie rock camp, so you can go ahead and get excited.

It’s a good road-trip mix! (spring is the unofficial gateway to weekend travel, you know). A good folding-laundry mix. (more being outdoors, more washing clothing, yo.) A good sippin’ wine on the back porch while thunderstorms roll in (<–tested and definitely holds true). These songs will do you good. PRAWMISE.

I give you . . . the “Sprang in Your Thang” mix.

Give me some good spring songs to check out! You know how I need SOMETHING ELSE to obsess over.

This time last year.  (my ’80s mix!) (check out my hair) (okay bye)

First Aid Kit, swooooon. Spoon, swooooon. Ray LaMontagne, swooooon. My spring music suggestion would be Electric Guest, specifically "This Head I Hold" and "Waves." They're my warm weather jam. Also, I've been ubzezzed with Pink Martini lately because I love jamming French music that I don't actually understand in the house (everyone loves it lol), but I just discovered them! They do some French, some Spanish, but it's all breezy and fun. If you know both of these bands already, ignore everything!
