FRIDAY………………yadrif.

MUMZ

You know that one quiz that was popular on the interflex a short while back about who you are as three fictional characters? First of all, I can’t stand those kinds of quizzes. Also, I’m secretly in love with those kinds of quizzes.

Except! I couldn’t find the quiz. I mean, I found ONE quiz (because when I looked for it, I found a hundred billion thousand hundred versions of it, and I have no idea which one is the original), but when I finished answering all the questions, and I clicked SUBMIT FINAL ANSWERS, it gave me the blasted 505 internal server error. Those words are not good. Especially because I didn’t get to find out who I am as three fictional characters! And this is clearly important in life.

So, I invented my own answers. Based on zero questions, and solely driven by my raging inner soul fairy parade. My three fictional characters are: Jessica Day from New Girl (right?), Kristen Wiig as Target Lady (obviously), aaaand the little mermaid (except with a painfully loud voice and a hair more cynicism).

I almost put together a little collage for you like the quiz does, but I didn’t want to seem that pathetic ha hah ah ah ah a!!  ha hah a hHA HAH AHA. h ah a.

H ahah ahah.

…hello?

Kids in Leaves

So you’ll never guess what show I just started watching, almost 17 years after its original airing.

I almost don’t even want to call it a show. It’s more like, a life-altering, life-sucking rabbit hole of obsession that has swallowed (swallen?) me whole and is digesting me slowly, like gum.

GILMORE GIRLS.

I just felt the earth tumble from the amount of jaws that plummeted from your faces.

IT.IS.SO.GREAT.

So smart. So funny. So sarcastic. So up my ’90s-loving alley.

And I love watching it aaaaaawwwwlll these years later, because of course it makes me nostalgic for those times. The early 2000s. Fresh off the heels of the 1990s. The music. The awful fashion (so many spaghetti straps!). The hairstyles. The lingo. And Kelly Bishop (helloooo, Dirty Dancing), who (whom?) I wholeheartedly believe is the greatest gift acting has ever seen. She’s my absolute favorite character. In the world. EVER. OF ALL TIME. LIKE, EVER. “Frozen pizza? That’s food you eat at a carnival, or in a Turkish prison.”

I’m irrationally in love with the show and all its quippiness. And guess what! I’m only 11 episodes into the first season, so I have a lawng Gilmore-licious road ahead.

However, I desperately need Lorelai and luscious Lumberjack Luke to hook up pronto, before I write Congress a letter.

The end.

Gremlins

Have you read Love Warrior?

(you’re like, “I WANNA TALK ABOUT GILMORE GIRLS SUMMOOOOORRRRRAAA.”)

It’s fantastic. I’m in a book club. (read: Refill My Wine-Club.) And we’re reading Love Warrior.

And it’s seriously wonderful.

However, I have this huge predicament now that Lorelai and Rory and Emily are in my life. How do I divide up my time?! 50% to the girls, and 50% to the book?

Wait, I’ve got it.

60/40.

65/35.

20/80.

No wait, this is it.

15/75.

Hold on, we’re getting there.

76/14.

48/52.

80/20! Like a good ground beef.

I’m hungry.

Park Day

Remember Caramellos? That chocolate bar stuffed with caramel? Are those still amazing?

“I was right in the middle of a Caramello when I FOUND GOLD.” (<–that’s the jingle.)

Park Day

Weekend plans?! My dawlin’ seester flew up from Arkansas to spend a gals only weekend with me. Well, two gals plus two snotty gremlins. I made her watch GG last night, and I think she really liked it! Up until the part when I heard her snoring from the other side of the sofa.

She’ll come around.

I'm so glad you are loving Gilmore Girls! It's one of my faves!!!! I hate to break it to you but you've got a long while to wait before Lorelai and Luke get together! But it is SO worth it when they do! :)

Ahhhh man, I need there to be more hours in the day so I can start rewatching Gilmore Girls all over again! Between your Instastories about it and the revival this month, I just want to get lost in the world all over again!

I want to talk more about Gilmore Girls. I watched it live starting about season 3 and have re-watched it in its entirety like 5-6-7 times. I'm rewatching it right now so I'm all fresh when the Netflix miniseries comes out this month. I heart Luke major. Obviously he's a Red Sox fan but they couldn't prove it on the show due to licensing, etc.

I totally have Gilmore Girls on my list of shows to watch (along w/ Parenthood!) so don't feel bad; you're not the only one late to the party. And I am in a long line for Love Warrior from the library. ;) Can't wait to get my hands on it! LOVE Glennon!

Gilmore girls was my only refuge after missing Parenthood SO MUCH!!!! Nothing is as good but...still so comfy and cozy to get into. Have a great weekend!

Welcome to the Gilmore Girls fandom!!! I'm currently binge-watching all the seasons before the Netflix revival on November 25. Literally nothing else in my life is getting done (except for the bill-paying job - obvs!) When you get to seasons 6 and 7, remember how much you loved seasons 1-4. It's the only thing that will keep you going....

YES! Gilmore Girls is amazing. I never watched it real-time. (Wasn't it on, like, WB or something? I never did get into watching shows on the "other" networks...anyway...) I'm watching it right now with my tween daughter (she just turned 12) and it is an awesome way for us to bond and talk about things that we may not be comfortable talking about otherwise. I LOVE the characters, the topics, the wit and sarcasm, everything about it. We're about 1/2 way though season 4, trying to get through the rest of the original episodes before the revival comes out!

You should also check out the Gilmore Guys podcast (two guys watch an episode of GG then do a podcast on the episode - it's so funny & entertaining). I love watching an episode then listening to the corresponding podcast, gives it a whole new perspective. http://www.gilmoreguysshow.com/

My 10 year old son and I love GG. Yep, son. He's so my child. Not gonna lie, the revival trailer made me cry. Rory's voice is different, though. Lower somehow? IDK. Lauren Graham does not age. And Emily Gilmore in jeans?? Return of the Life and Death Brigade?! I can't wait.

I began watching Gilmore Girls, a little while back. Hubby didn't care for it, so I watch it when he is sleeping or out of town. I am currently at Season 3: Episode 2. There are 153 episodes! I like it, but think it is pretty hokey. Too many fast and perfect come-backs, but I guess that's the idea. The main thing that drives me crazy, is the song in the beginning. I can't get it out of my head, for days!! AGHHH!!! Well, on to episode 3 tonight. My favorites have been Breaking Bad, of course, Mad Men, and New Girl, Wentworth (fantastic), Orange is the New Black (Really good, things changing all of the time), The Fall (riveting), Being Human (crazy fun), Bloodline (pretty cool), Stranger Things (weird, but good), Hemlock Grove (weird and goofy), How to Get Away with Murder (Fun to watch, impossible in real life, still interesting). Game of Cards - always a fave - they do a lot of filming in Maryland and DC. Our neighbors were in one episode as extras! Of course Dexter, Shameless, Game of Thrones, Nurse Jackie, Weeds, and Six Feet Under. There are more, just can't remember all of them at the moment. Our Saturday plans are to go to a Wine Festival - they will have over 100 wines to taste, great food and a huge silent auction (always love them). Sunday - Football of course (Ravens). Sometimes I watch the whole game but usually leave after the 1st half and check in, periodically to see what's happn'. Have fun with your seester and the gremlins!

I live out in the middle of nowhere where good WiFi does not exist in an affordable price range so Netflix streaming is, sadly, never going to happen unless I move to town (which ain't gonna happen, either) and I am HEARTBROKEN that I won't get to see the Gilmore Girls revival. Super hoping Netflix puts it on dvd at some point. My life won't be complete if I never get to watch it. (super over the top melodramatic, I know but, you feel me, right? GG are life! ha!)

Find yourself the Gilmore Guys podcast. It's so ridiculously delightful. You will love it. KELLY BISHOP IS ON AN EPISODE. And yes, I'm shouting that intentionally.
