Montchevré Goat Cheese Giveaway!

JUST HEAR THOSE SLEIGH BELLS JINGLIN’, RING TING TINGLIN’ TOOOO.

Montchevré Goat Cheese Giveaway / Bev Cooks

You guys, I have the cheesiest giveaway today. Hahahah! But seriously.

It’s the holidays and me thinks you need some free cheese all up in yo’ face. So, I’ve partnered up with the sinfully delicious Montchevré goat cheese peeps (the cheese is delicious. not the peeps. well, I’m sure the peeps are delicious, too, but that would be awkward if I knew that first hand. let’s just forget I said anything.) to give three (THREE. 3!) Holiday Goat Cheese Packages away to my fine readers! If this doesn’t excite you, then the Grinch has eaten your soul.

Montchevré was founded in 1989, is based out of Belmont, Wisconsin, and currently works with 370 independent family farms! I love little tidbits like that. And the thing about this cheese, is that it’s all goat milk! The cheddar is goat milk. The brie is goat milk. Even the blue is goat milk. And you can SERIOUSLY TASTE IT. I took their cheeses to two Thanksgiving parties last week and honestly, I don’t even know what happened because one second they were there, and the next, completely vanished. It was like the Goat Ghost of Christmas Present came and reminded us all of what true happiness and freedom is. There was weeping. Singing. Things got weird, in other words.

In the Holiday Goat Cheese Package, three of you will get:

  • 1 truffle 4 oz. log
  • 1 grande truffiere 5.5 oz wheel
  • 1 cranberry cinnamon log
  • 1 blueberry vanilla log
  • 1 pumpkin log

You know we’re talking about CHEESE, right? If you need to lie down it’s perfectly okay.

Montchevré Goat Cheese Giveaway / Bev Cooks

Montchevré has all sorts of suggestions on how to use and prep the cheeses, like in their above photo right here, ^^^, but I tend to just throw them in my face hole and call it a day.

But this VIDEO. Seriously, watch this beautiful video and you’ll get so much inspiration on how to pair them up with different fruits and nuts and breads. (You’re still thinking about that truffle log, aren’t you? I know how you people are.)

So, the giveaway. Per usual, I’ll ask you a question, and you’ll answer in the comments. And for EXTRA chances to win, you can follow me here, here, here and here, and leave additional comments letting me know.

And for extra, EXTRA chances to win, you should definitely follow Montchevré on Facebook and Instagram, and of course leave more comments letting me know! Boom.

My question to you is very simple.

What is your favorite Christmas movie? Because Aaron and I fight all the time over what Christmas movie to watch, and we need new or old inspiration. Basically, my marriage depends on you. But no pressure. But help me.

(This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only, and will end one week from today, Dec 10th. I’ll announce a winner that morning! You know it’s all goat cheese, right? GOAT CHEESE.)

Hi Bev! The Snowman is my favorite of all time. It came out in 1982, I think? It's only about a half hour long, but such cool animation and lovely music :). I didn't even know a thing as wonderful as a goat cheese truffle log could exist... YUM!

Elf Squared, for sure!!! I laugh no matter how many times I watch it. The same jokes get me every. Single. Time. Will Ferrel just cracks me up.

Gotta go with the classic comedy National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I would say that It's a Wonderful Life is a very, very close second but sometimes I just don't have the energy to stay awake for that whole movie! #momlife

Christmas Vacation for before the actual day and then A Christmas Story for watching on Christmas. (With a healthy sprinkling of White Christmas and Elf mixed in) ...I may have a Christmas movie problem

Home Alone. Grinch. The Santa Clause. and Jingle All the Way. But there's a special place in my heart for the old 1964 classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! The cheese looks absolutely dreamy - thanks for the give away! Bonus points for following: instagram, the facebooks, pinterest, twitter, & for double bonus Montchevré on Facebook and Instagram!

Bev, you're the best! I want to say that National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is my favorite, but I'm a total sap at heart so I have to go with Love Actually! The bromance storyline is the best part. PS You should totally post photos of the babies with the cheeses. Babies + Cheeses 4 Life
  29. Leslie December 3, 2015 at 8:27 am #
Its a tie between Elf and A Christmas Story. And I follow you on Instagram and I am going to go follow you on all the other's too because I WANT THAT CHEESE!

White Christmas!! I grew up with old movies and it's one of my favorites. Another great Christmas movie that flies under the radar is called The Preachers Wife (starring Denzel Washington and Whitney Houston). Also the 1947 Miracle on 34th Street. And the 1945 Christmas in Connecticut...ok I really like old Christmas movies!

Okay. 25 days of Christmas was like made for your marriage...you don't choose, you just watch ALL THE CHRISTMAS MOVIES <3 But if I HAD to pick just one...probably Home Alone.

Just the music in "Love, Actually" is enough of a reason to watch it again and again. And now I've read a fan theory that the Liam Neeson character is really in love with the Emma Thompson character, so I must watch and confirm this information. "All l want for Christmas is you-ou-ou-ou-ou" (and cheese, btw)!
  35. Jenessa December 3, 2015 at 8:44 am #
My very favorite as a grown up is While You Were Sleeping. When I was a kid my favorite was Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas, which I still love and watch every year too.
  36. Laura December 3, 2015 at 8:47 am #
Favorite holiday movie is a toss-up between The Holiday (the music and the actors and the scenery? I love it) and Elf (literally can't go wrong there). Also: how long does a movie have to be out and perfect before it's called a classic? Does Elf qualify yet?

BTW - I am a cheese freak but have never tried goat cheese! my mother has always told me how much she hates it so I have avoided it my whole life. However, you have taught me about quinoa and tomatillas so I am going to give it a shot. I'll look for one of these flavors, I guess. Do you have a suggestion for a first timer eater?

  123. Susan S December 3, 2015 at 11:22 am #
National Lampoon Christmas Vacation is our family fave but gotta say, I really like Family Man, which isn't a main stream holiday film. But I also love Elf, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Love Actually, and The Holiday. Wow, I think I'd better admit that I'm a huge fan of all Christmas movies. Also a HUGE cheese fan with goat cheese right at the top, along with Manchego, cambazola, brie. Okay, I guess I like cheese as much as I do Christmas movies.

A Christmas Story. It is a favorite at my house. My daughter and I went to see it last night in the theater. It is funny and such a lovely picture of innocence past. My daughter is lactose intolerant and goat cheese is the perfect alternative to cow cheese. LOVE it!!!

I hate to be girly, but I love Love Actually. I will stop and watch that every time. Another one that I like is The Holiday. Not traditional like A Christmas Story (which is fun to share now with my nephews). My sister stays anatomically attached to her DVR during the holidays watching the marathon of holiday movies on Hallmark and Lifetime (just bring me wine and cheese instead).

My favorite thing about the holidays is any animated holiday made for TV special, preferably created between 1970-1985. So like, The Grinch, Frosty, Rudolph, something starring Garfield or The Smurfs would be good. Definitely anything Peanuts related. Give me that and some soft pants with an elastic waist and some slippers and it's Happy Holidays!!

Little Women - Winona and Claire version. There is technically only 1 Christmas scene, but so much of it is filmed in the winter and it just makes me want to curl up with all the wine and all the Montchevre Truffle Logs and get lost in Louisa May Alcott's world. Is a person supposed to be able to pick just one best Xmas movie ever?? No, obviously not when they are about 383 sub-categories... Xmas romance, Xmas happy feelings, Xmas for kids, Sappy Made-for-TV Xmas movies you've never heard of but still make you cry... etc. Since all the really best movies have already been mentioned (It's a Wonderful Life and Love Actually are actually, in fact, the best) I will submit some new ideas. Couple of years ago I watched "A Dog Named Christmas" on the Hallmark channel. I can't remember what happened exactly but I think there was a dog, and possibly a fire... in a barn... and the dog saved the day. I don't know, but I cried. And vowed to be a better person afterwards. Also, while setting my DVR for ALL the Christmas movies on Hallmark last night I came across one called "Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery." I don't even know if its actually a Christmas movie, but based on the title alone, everyone should watch it.

"Gremlins!" I know it's not typically considered a holiday movie, but it takes place during Christmas-time so I'm counting it. "Christmas Vacation" is a close second though.

Just Friends. It has nothing to do with Christmas other than that it takes place during Christmas time and is the most under rated and hilarious romantic comedy of all time. And because...Ryan Reynolds.

My favorite is Scrooge with Albert Finney. It came out when I was a kid in the 70s. So, I first saw it in a theater which was a BIG deal for my family. I watched the Hell scene and was terrified! Of course, we bought a copy and let our kids watch it every Christmas - with that scene being optional - and with my singing along usually not well-tolerated!

I have to say Ernest Saves Christmas is the movie I loved the most when my kids were little. They always laughed so hard. I wish I had one day back with them when they were that little to hear them laugh like that again!

I have to say Ernest Save Christmas was the movie that we enjoyed the most when our kids were little. They always laughed so hard. I wish I could have one day back with them when they were that age to hear the sound of their voices laughing when they were that small.

Elf is great, but I would also say The Family Stone - not technically a Christmas movie, but it takes place during Christmas so I count it - it's so good.

Good morning Bev from a sunshiney Dallas :-) My favourite ever Christmas movie is 'Miracle on 34th Street' :-) Although I've only watched it three times (the 1947 version twice and the 1994 version once) but its the most beautiful Chrismas movie I've ever seen. Annnd I know the 1947 version at least is on Amazon Prime, so I may even watch it again today Have a funtabulous weekend ?

I can't pick a favorite! Elf? The Santa Clause? Christmas Vacation is always good. I'm not indecisive at all. I just got back from Maui, and we had the most wonderful goat cheese I have ever tasted. It's called Surfing Goat Dairy - http://www.surfinggoatdairy.com/. The name alone is enough, right? You can take a tour of the farm and even milk a goat! Seriously if you ever get a chance to try their stuff, it's amazeballs. Do I have to tell you I already follow you on all the places? Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter.
