Mr. Davis Undershirt (Father’s Day GIVEAWAY!)

(this giveaway is now closed.)

Oooooo, guuuuurl, shoooooot.

Mr. Davis Undershirt Giveaway (Father's Day!) / Bev Cooks

SO. I’m switching it up today. Which is obvious since that’s a muscular dude with zero chest hair and not a slice of pizza or a chicken taco. Instead of a Father’s Day gift guide, I thought it would be a gas (not to be confused with having gas) to host a super sleek, super cozy, super comfy, super hot (not to be confused with jalapeno hot) undershirt giveaway for yo’ man!

Does your dude already wear undershirts? If so, his life’s about get so awesome. If he doesn’t, he’s desperately going to need to start after seeing the magic and wonderment of this shirt.

And I’m gonna make this post ridiculously long so we can look at photos of muscle dudes.

Just kidding, Aaron!

(I’m not kidding)

Mr. Davis Undershirt Giveaway (Father's Day!) / Bev Cooks

I am sooo so so proud of my long-time, dear friend Jeremy for inventing the . . . Mr. Davis undershirt! He’s an inventor, you guys. And I know him. I know cool people.

Thing is, the Mr. Davis undershirt is different than regular stark, stiff white undershirts. The material is crazy soft, comes in a variety of neutrals, is available in crew and v-neck, and your dude seriously needs some.

It’s also sliiiiightly tapered on the sides, so it stays tucked in all day. No wrinkled waist weirdness wiggin’ ya steez.

The MAIN THING though, is that it doesn’t show! It’s like, invisible. Here, let me show you.

Mr. Davis Undershirt Giveaway (Father's Day!) / Bev Cooks

See that? Snack shack on the left be all slick and cool with no undershirt showing. Lunchbox on the right be all sad and embarrassed with his undershirt blaring like alien lights from the beyond. Don’t be like Lunchbox.

So this is what I’m gonna do. I want to give away two undershirts (valued at 50 bones), in any size, any color, any style! It’s seriously the perfect Father’s day gift. You can’t not.

And guess what. Since it’s slightly tapered on the sides with the softest material on the planet and a simple, added detail in the shoulders, you can totally throw it on for a slouchy-tee look! (I’ve done this. Don’t tell Jeremy. Or Aaron.)

Mr. Davis Undershirt (Father's Day Giveaway!) / Bev Cooks

You guys. This undershirt is genius. There’s no other word for it.

So to enter, I’ve got a VERY IMPORTANT question for you, which you’ll answer in the comments below. And for extra entries you can always follow me here, here, here and here and leave extra comments letting me know. You know the drill. The undershirt drill.

My question: Who is your all-time most favorite TELEVISION dad? And why? And how old were you when you watched him? Just kidding you don’t have to answer that.

How ’bout one more muscular dude photo?

Mr. Davis Undershirt Giveaway (Father's Day!) / Bev Cooks

I like Father’s Day.

(the fine print: this giveaway is only open to U.S. and Canada. So sorry! It will close Wednesday morning June 17th at 6am. I’ll pick a winner using random.org and will contact you and announce shortly after! also, a couple of Davis dudes will be hanging out in the comments ready to answer any questions. good luck!)

Go getcha bawdaw undershirt, now.

I loved Bill Cosby as Mr. Huckstable. He was a great Dad on the show.

My favorite TV Dad was Bill Bixby in The Courtship of Eddie's Father. I know I am dating myself, as this series aired from 1969-72, but that's okay. I loved him because he was a widower dad and they had a terrific relationship. First time I had seen anything like that.I also loved the theme song."People let me tell you 'bout my best friend." Here is a synopsis: The Courtship of Eddie's Father debuted in the fall of 1969 on ABC and was one of only a couple sitcoms to debut that season. The other most popular one was The Brady Bunch. The series centered around Tom Corbett, a magazine publisher and widower, with a young son, Eddie Corbett. Tom was in charge of the motherless household but Eddie was determined to find a wife for his dad and constantly tried to pair his father up with prospective brides. The deep, real-life friendship that existed between Bill Bixby and Brandon Cruz translated into a warm, believable portrayal of father and son in the series. With patience and understanding, Tom guided his small son through the difficult life lessons of growing up. And often, Eddie taught his father a memorable lesson or two. James Komack, producer and co-star of the series, admitted that as the series progressed, it became less about Tom's constant courtship of women and more about "the courtship of father and son - their love affair." Others in the cast included Mrs. Livingston, the housekeeper, Norman Tinker, a photographer who worked with Tom, and Tina, Tom's secretary. Although Mrs. Livingston was always referred to as their housekeeper, she actually served as a mother figure to Eddie. Her most important roles in the household were as a nanny and confidant to him. He was anxious for a new mother, yet very devoted to Mrs. Livingston. The opening and closing segments of each show were called "Peanuts". Eddie and Tom were filmed from a distance at a location such as the beach or the amusement park. Topics for these "Peanuts" in the first season ranged from discussions about Eddie's possible future mother, to light-hearted conversations connected with their leisure activities. By the third season, many of the topics were more complex, such as discussions about democracy, and when a boy becomes a man. Theme Song: "Best Friend" Written by: Harry Nilsson Sung by: Harry Nilsson Harry also performed very short accompaniments to many selected episodes

I was going to say Bill Cosby too! I just love that man. He's awesome. Anyhow, the biggest complaint in my mens undershirt life is that (quite honestly) husbands nips show through the shirt! I find this repulsive and want to stop it. I will literally wet my pants if I win this giveaway because undershirts are the gift I give 1) My dad 2) my husband and 3) my brother-in-law. It's the same drill every year! Thank you Bev for introducing me to this brand because I do not like shirts that show through. Cannot wait to try these.

My favorite sitcom dad is Arthur on "King of Queens". My family always laughs that if something happens to me, my husband (Jim) will move in with my only child (daughter Amy and her family) and he would be just like Arthur. When we are all together, we have several "Arthur" moments when we all say to my husband, "oh, you were just like Arthur"!!!!! My husband is more easy going than Arthur but you can tell Arthur loves living with his family. That is my husband....he loves his family more than anything. His grandchildren are his pride and joy. When I would leave him alone with the grandchildren, I would always say to him: don't let them talk you in to jumping off the roof". lol Arthur lives in the moment and so does my husband. More people should be like them!!

  44. Kyle Rohde June 8, 2015 at 9:51 am #
Mine would probably be Tim Taylor. Home Improvement was one of the few shows growing up that I think I enjoyed as much as my parents did, and that we watched together (Wonder Years was another). I loved the DIY/gearhead nature of him as a Dad, along with the loving, nurturing, fun-loving parts. Thanks Bev!
  45. Dolores Daniels June 8, 2015 at 9:53 am #
I believe Andy Griffith as being the best T V. Dad. He was strong but loving. Showed that being a single parent, he raised his son Opie ( Ron Howard) to be kind, strong, honest, hard working. To always answer for his mistakes, stand up and be responsible for his actions. Each show there was always a lesson to be learned, and at the end of the day,he showed his son he loved him, and was a good example as to how his son should be.

My favorite TV dad of all times is Alan Matthews from "Boy Meets World" (1993-2000). Why? Because he wasn't rich, famous, perfect. He grumbled, complained, whined, punished his kids, and showed tough love. He could have been my dad! He kept it real, and as much as possible, put his family first in all things. (and yes, I still love watching re-runs!!)

  230. Leah June 9, 2015 at 9:59 am #
Zeek Braverman. Watched Parenthood on Netflix just last night and it was the episode where Adam punches a guy in line at the grocery store. Zeek is a little freaked out by seeing his always in control son do that and brings it up with Adam. Adam gets defensive, and says he has always been in control because he didn't want to be like Zeek. After a long, humbled, teary pause, Zeek just says, "I've got your back". That's why I like Zeek. So real. Such a good, but not-perfect-because-who-is? dad. I miss those Bravermans.

Jack Arnold from "The Wonder Years". He was real, just like my dad.

I have 3 shows that come to mind when I think favorite dad. Andy Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show reminds me of my own dad. We watched the show together. My dad is kind of the laid back, don't rush through life type. ------- I also liked Steven Keaton from Family Ties. ------ Anyone remember the show "My Two Dads"? Laid back artist and uptight financial advisor raising daughter after her mother passes away (its never revealed who the father really is). They just seemed the perfect balance of parents....one who felt cool enough you could talk to him about anything and one who would keep you balanced and on the path to a successful future.

Tim Taylor for sure !!!! always talking cars...just like another dad I know :) and we are Taylor's too !

Brian Cranston as the Dad on Malcolm in the Middle! Breaking Bad was a whole other story but he was so fun-loving and under-appreciated by his kids, wife and employer on Malcolm. I chuckle just remembering such episodes as skipping school and work to go to the Nascar race and teaching Malcolm to inline skate using his old disco skate routine. Still love the reruns!

Zeek Braverman !! I know he's not popular, but he's a very brave, strong-willed man, which really reminds me of my deceased father.

Hal from Malcolm in the Middle! Most wonderfully, hilarious, ridiculous father on television. And man did he love his wife! (Major man/dad points in my book)
  315. Megan Triplett June 16, 2015 at 11:30 am #
Zeke Braverman! He is strong and loves his children well. He works hard to instill the things he thinks are important, into his children.

So I recently realized that The Wonder Years is on Netflix. I'm now on season 3. Jack Arnold is by far the best Dad on TV in my opinion. While he has a hard demeanour, stern, and doles out exasperated looks like nobodies business, he also always has his family's best interest at heart and his wife is the love of his life.
