Chocolate Almond Mousse with Pistachios (& a Hershey’s Spreadable Chocolate Giveaway)

CHAWK-EEE-LAWWWT.

mousse1

(Mom, that was “chocolate.” I’m just saying it all hicky and sounding like a total boob in the process.)

Welcome to installation part TROIS of the new Hershey’s Spreadable Chocolate Series! Not sure if you heard the word (nope, not bird), but Hershey’s recently released a new line of Spreadable Chocolate, and it has caused the most beautiful destruction in my home. Have you gone out and picked some up yet? I don’t even want to know the answer if it’s no. You can’t do that to me. NOT IN MY CONDITION.

Well, I made you something. Okay, I made myself something. I made a most simple mousse using Hershey’s chocolate (WITH ALMOND ugh) spread, and it has wreaked the most wonderful havoc in my mouth.

mousse4

Heavy cream, the chocolate spread, a little bit of cayenne if you’re feeling naughty, and crushed pistachios. The end.

But not the end because I still have a giveaway to tell you about. Thank the blessed days of the babies that drink the morning dew.

(ignore me)

mousse2

So this is the deal. Hershey’s wants to send one (1) of my readers a kit with all three (3) spreads in it, plus some yummies to spread them on! It’s like a New Year’s miracle.

Just answer my question in the comments and you’re entered to win! Of course you can always follow me here, here, here and here and leave an additional comment letting me know. Easy as pie! I mean spready chocolate.

mousse3

My question IS: Speaking of mousse, did you wear hair mousse in the ’80s and ’90s? And be honest, do you still wear it now?

Chocolate Almond Mousse:

What it took for 3-4 small servings:

* 1 cup heavy cream

* 1/2 to 3/4 cup Hershey’s Chocolate Almond spread (or any flavor you like)

* 1 pinch cayenne

* 1/4 cup crushed pistachios

In a large bowl, combine the cream and chocolate spread. Using an electric hand mixer, beat the mix until fluffy and light. Place in the fridge for a few hours, or the freezer for an hour. Serve topped with a light sprinkling of cayenne and some crushed pistachios.

Seeing as how I’m having babies in 20 minutes and won’t be near a computer for some time, I’m going to let this giveaway run until Jan 17th. I’ll pick a winner using Random.org and let ya know that Friday morning!

*Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Hershey’s Chocolate sponsored it and compensated me via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value to write it. But as you know, all opinions and thoughts are my own, dudes. #spreadpossibilities

Ok. That looks sek-tuuu-al. seriously. and no, I have never worn mousse, although I am sure I tried to "scrunch" my hair with it once and it was crunchy. Not a good look for hair.
  2. Claire January 3, 2014 at 8:17 am #
Yum! And nope, I've never been a mousse kind of girl. I mostly just let me hair do whatever it wants. :D
  3. Amy @ The Blond Cook January 3, 2014 at 8:19 am #
Ummmm... that looks so good! YES YES YES sported mousse like a champ. In the 80s AND 90s! Saying I had big hair is a total understatement. :-)
  4. Jo Ann January 3, 2014 at 8:22 am #
Both the product and the recipe look yum! 20 mins., huh? You're on the verge!
  5. Allison January 3, 2014 at 8:22 am #
Why yes, yes I did wear hair mousse in the 80', 90's, and maybe the early 00's. Even though it is NOT for my hair type. That dish looks yum-my!
  6. Caitlin January 3, 2014 at 8:26 am #
This mousse looks amazing! (hair mousse, however, frightens me a bit)
  7. Joanna January 3, 2014 at 8:38 am #
In the 80's I was too young to make my own decisions and my mom totally moussed me up. Since then, I have not used any.
  8. Phoebe January 3, 2014 at 8:41 am #
Umm, yes to the hair mousse in the 80's & 90's (I had a perm, hellllo!), but I still use a little now, just sans the perm! haha
  9. Amy S. January 3, 2014 at 8:42 am #
I TOTALLY wore mousse in the 80s and 90s. I still have some laying around in case the need or moon ever strikes. :-)
  10. Shari Evans January 3, 2014 at 8:48 am #
Mousse...why yes I did! Can't wait to try these spreads, haven't found them yet but I'm on the hunt :)
  11. Rachel January 3, 2014 at 8:50 am #
Yes, I wore mousse in my hair. But I high styled only my bangs! There is no evidence of those years, thankfully. I would love to make my husband's year with these spreads!!!! Praying for you and the babies!
  12. Sarah H.P. January 3, 2014 at 8:52 am #
    I've never used hair mousse!
  13. Lisa January 3, 2014 at 8:58 am #
I never used mousse but I remember having a little tube of it for my 80s Barbie doll. I loved doing her hair!
  14. Cheryl January 3, 2014 at 8:59 am #
Oh yea, with curly hair I definitely used mousse!
  15. Rachel January 3, 2014 at 9:04 am #
Yes and yes! In the 80's and 90's, mousse gave my perm that tubular wet look and kept my bangs standing as high as a skater's ollie. Today I use it to add a little "dirt" to my hair after I wash it so I can style it into something presentable.
  16. jessie January 3, 2014 at 9:08 am #
Yes i wore hair moose in my hair I had a perm and that's what I used to keep the curls. I still use it today on occasion. That chocolate moose looks really good.

    Um, yes. And nooo.
  18. Rachel January 3, 2014 at 9:13 am #
No mousse wearing hair here, but I NEED this chocolate almond mousse!
  19. rachel January 3, 2014 at 9:14 am #
My hair just didn't take to mousse. So I still don't wear it! Good luck with the babies :)
  20. Jennifer J January 3, 2014 at 9:17 am #
Mouse was the only hair product for us curly hair girls back then.....I don't use it anymore....they have come a long way with hair product. However, I never throw anything away so I probably have a can in the back of my hair care closet. Yes, I have an obsession with hair product and have a whole closet of product that I have purchased over the years and cannot bring myself to throwing it away....too much money!

Hmmm hair mousse ........I have always been a wash and go kind of woman (ask my 80+ Mom who still tells me to do something with my hair) maybe I should try mousse. ;)
  26. Erin Y. January 3, 2014 at 9:29 am #
My mom told me I was too young to wear hair product in the 80s and 90s.... so no mousse for me! However, I do wear it occasionally now. :)

No mousse then, no mousse now....but chocolate mousse???? Yum yum!!!
  33. Lauren January 3, 2014 at 9:52 am #
If I'm going au'natural (curly) then I do wear a little mousse, and I probably did in the 90's too! Can't wait to "meet" those bay-bees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  34. Jameie Combs January 3, 2014 at 10:03 am #
Hershey's now comes in a convenient spread!? O, the possibilities! Now, about the mousse... Yes and.... Yes. I'm a curly-head and don't have many other options to tame the beast. I do however use far less mousse than I did back then. :)
  35. Stacey I January 3, 2014 at 10:07 am #
Guilty :) When I scrunch my hair to get it curly, I put a bit of mousse in it..... Okay, did I really just admit that??
  36. Katrina @ WVS January 3, 2014 at 10:11 am #
I want this riiiiiight now! Yum!
  37. Justine January 3, 2014 at 10:13 am #
I wore it back in the day and I still occasionally wear mousse if I let my hair air dry curly.

Yes, I have worn mousse. I have fine, stick straight hair and had a wonderful (I seriously thought that at the time) perm in the mid 90s that I styled with mousse. I currently do not have a perm but I do use some volumeizing mousse/spray stuff that theoretically gives my hair more volume.

Hmm that chocolate spread looks amazing! since it says chocolate with almond is it kind of like chocolate almond butter? I was born in '91 sooooo...I never wore mousse during that time ;) And I don't use it now...my hair is pretty straight and I like to let it fall natural down my back :)

***************sneaks to the corner and quietly answers********************** Yes, I used mousse in the 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's. :) I still love me a little mousse, but instead of the .79 suuuuuu-aaaa--vvvvvvvvvvv-aaaaaaaaaaaa (suave LOL), it is now Paul Mitchel for upwards of $10. So I am proudly a mousse user (AND eater, but not the Paul Mitchell variety, more the chocolate variety!) I haven't found or been able to purchase the Hershey spreads, so I would LOVE to win it!

Haha I've tried mousse a couple times int eh past, but it always made my hair feel super gross. My hair is too straight I think to use it even if I wanted to anyway. Love this edible mousse though! Chocolate almond is my dad's favorite ice cream flavor so I bet he'd love it in mousse form. I'll have to make it for him next month.

Have never worn hair mousse but would love to make this type of chocolatey mousse. Good luck with the babies!!

I use a two-mousse cocktail to tame my otherwise-frizzy curls and I would use chocolate mousse if that would do a better job - I'm not afraid to admit it! = )

I wish I'd been old enough to use hair mousse back in the 90s..my mum did my hair in all kinds of twisty concoctions!

I still wear mousse. Daily. I've convinced myself that it adds volume to my stick straight hair. Spoiler alert - it doesn't.

While I can't say I've worn much mousse, I can say I have eaten my fair share. Also would love some chawk-eee-lawt spreadables. :)

I wore mousse when I was a kid, but in the seventh grade I shaved my head and I never grew it out again.

I wasn't too old in the 80s so no mousse for me back then...but even today no products. My hair is straight as straight can be.

I have never worn mousse due to naturally stick straight hair. But I never turn down the chance to eat mousse!

I didn't wear it then and I don't wear it now. I do like chocolate mousse though :)

I DID wear hair mousse in the 80's and 90's, but I have since graduated to excellent shampoo/conditioner and occasionally hairspray. Thank goodness. Congrats on the babies!

How DEEEliscious! The only mousse I wore in my hair was some I stole from my mom that one time... Congratulations on the wee ones!

El signo más notorio de una piel envejecida, será su flacidez, la aparición de líneas de expresión en el rostro. El factor más determinante para que aparezca, sigue siendo la exposición excesiva al sol.
