Sriracha Hot Toddy with Honey and Lemon

Ooooooookay.

I think I’m about halfway caught up with Parenthood, and it’s official. I want them to adopt me. I don’t even care which family. All of them. Joint custody. Except, as much as I want to stick Crosby in my bra, when he smiles, duuuude it’s intense! How many teeth does that guy have? And his lip like curls up around his eyebrow? I don’t know. It freaks me out a little.

The funny thing is though, that family is SO my in-laws. In a good way! (Aaron is shaking his head at me right now) A hundred people talking over each other, the constant state of chaos, the being joined at the hip, kids everywhere, never a wine bottle ignored. WHAT. I telleth the trutheth. I’m watching all these episodes back to back to prepare for Christmas. Stretching my legs, yo.

srirahca hot toddy 2

Will I ever stop saying yo? I hope not.

By the way, I lost the rest of my 2 marbles when I added sriracha sauce to this hot toddy. Uuuuuugh and I can’t even explain how it happened. I think it’s because the sacks of liquid in my ears are empty. No I’m serious. Actually I need you to tell me if this is true. Aaron says that in our ears we have little sacks of liquid that manage our equilibrium or whatever. A) Sacks of liquid? Sick. B) Sacks of liquid? Sick. C) Is he messing with me?

MINE ARE OFF. They’ve spilled out or something. I feel constantly off balance and dizzy. Like I could fall over at any moment. What’s going on with me?! Am I going to die? How do I refill my ear liquid sacks?

Wait, where did you go?

I’m seriously going to spend like 57 hours today on WebMD. But first, here’s the recipe to the Sriracha Hot Toddy on the Tablespoons.

Aaaaand don’t forget to enter the Desserts In Jars Giveaway! YOUUU MUUUUST.

Yeah, they’re empty alright.

I just started watching Parenthood last night and I waaaant to be hooked, but I'm not yet. Will I get hooked? I hope so. Maybe if I drink a hot toddy while watching that will do the trick.

I think my husband would fall over at the mere sight of a sriracha beverage - you've done it woman. I won't be allowed to drink anything elsei n my house now, cause Ben will be adding rooster sauce to e'rythang now.

I want to start watching Parenthood but I really don't want to cry like an idiot at every.single.episode. Like I totally know I will...I won't even have a cold, but I'll have to make these toddies (is that how you pluralize Toddy?) to deal with the congestion onslaught from crying. Oy.

When I finished all of the episodes I seriously felt like I was a kid in the midst of a divorce...like I lost my friends. And don't even get me started on Crosby's smile. Or Sriracha. Neeeeeeed them both.

My husband and I have a new ritual of going to bed when we put the baby down. At, like, 7 p.m. Part of it is because we're sleep-deprived and it's one of our only chances to sleep. The other part is that we wind down by queuing up Parenthood, or "P-Hood" as I've affectionately started calling it. We just started Season 3. I'm already dreading being caught up. As far as Dax/Crosby goes, my wonderful husband has identified the moments in the intro right before the disturbing open-mouthed toothy grin appears so that I can quickly avert my eyes. Seriously crazy-huge smile. "There's the pumpkin, look away!!!" Heh. I married a keeper. And, hello, brilliant hot toddy! (Sriracha, what?!) I'm totally bookmarking it and trying it with my next cold. And with a toddler in the house, I'm thinking that'll be ... tomorrow.

I have a very serious liquid imbalance, too. My head hurts and I'm dizzy and I probably need to drink more water AND I'm definitely sick with a cold, so I know THAT'S the real reason I'm off balance and not the reason WebMD just told me. Because their prognosis is super scary. Like the Sriracha!

Part of the inner ear anatomy consists of the cochlea and within the cochlea there is fluid. In my audiology class, the professor mentioned disease which is often misdiagnosed known as meinere's disease. Not saying that is what you have, but symptoms include difficuluties keeping balance and dizziness. Keep a journal of your daily symptoms and then visit an otolaryngologist.

I just took my first sip and I noticed I still had this page open, so I wanted to tell you that I think this is awesome! I cut the recipe in half so I could keep it all for myself and I really like it, feel the burn!
